 In A First For History, Rumy Alqahtani, A Saudi Woman, Will Compete In The 2024 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.



This is a significant turning point in the changes championed by Mohammed Bin Salman, the royal prince of Saudi Arabia.


The 27-year-old Alqahtani, who was born in Riyadh, used Instagram to stress the significance of the nation's historic debut at the beauty pageant in addition to expressing excitement at the opportunity.


With this declaration, Alqahtani bec omes the second contender from the conservative Gulf area to compete in the Miss Universe competition, after Lujane Yacoub of Baharain, who attended the previous year.


Iran will compete in the Miss Universe competition for the first time on September 18, which will take place in Mexico.


Alqahtani,  Tani is a dentist with a bachelor's degree in competent in three languages: Arabic, French, and English, according to The Independent. She was crowned the 2021 Miss Arab World Peace, Miss Saudi Arabia, Miss Middle East, and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia). 


In February, she competed in the most recent Miss and Mrs Global Asian pageant held in Malaysia, among other international pageants in which she has participated.


Particularly in Nigeria, the development has angered and openly criticised traditional Muslims.
