Just-In: EFCC Captured Immigration Officer N800K Work Scam
EFCC Captures Movement Official Over N800k Occupation Trick
The Monetary and Monetary Violations Commission (EFCC) has had critical triumphs in its battle against misrepresentation and defilement in Nigeria, with two high-profile cases bringing about convictions and condemnations.
In the main case, Dabiet Onyemi Gilbert, a movement official, was condemned to one year in jail by Equity H.H. Kereng of the Gombe State High Court for getting N800,000 from a task searcher deceptively.
The EFCC got a request from the person in question and directed an exhaustive examination, prompting Gilbert's arraignment and conviction. In a different case, Saleh Haruna was condemned to five years in jail by Equity Muazu Abubakar of the Bauchi State High Court for scheme and fabrication. Haruna had acted like a land merchant and plotted with Mohammed Mustapha Sallah to dupe a survivor of N950,000.
The EFCC has hailed these convictions as a significant achievement in its endeavours to battle extortion and defilement in Nigeria. The counter-joint organisation has likewise charged Sallah, Haruna's supposed assistant, on three counts of connivance, phoney, and aiming to dupe. His case has been dismissed until July 8, 2024, for an additional meeting.
The EFCC stays committed to its main goal of freeing Nigeria of degenerate practices and shielding the country's economy from fake exercises. These convictions act as a wake-up call to the outcomes of fake ways of behaving and show the organisation's assurance to deal with culprits.
