Breaking: Borno Government Will Reduce Fuel Price For Famers.
Borno Government To Reduce Fuel Price For Farmers By 600.
The Borno State government has announced that it will reduce the fuel prices of farmers who have been affected by Boko Haram attacks to alleviate their suffering.
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum made this known on Friday in Bama during the distribution of agricultural equipment to over 5,000 farmers who were displaced by Boko Haram attacks.
According to the governor, the price of a liter of fuel, which is currently selling for N1,000 and N1,200 in Maiduguri, will be reduced to N600 for farmers.
"We did this with the aim of alleviating the suffering or financial hardships faced by farmers, especially in areas where buildings and businesses have been destroyed as a result of the years of Boko Haram insurgency," Zulum said.
The governor said they carried out similar operations in Damasak and Mobar local governments last year, which led to an increase in food production and improved livelihoods for the people.
He said they would work with the military to ensure that the fuel was delivered without any problems.
The items distributed by the governor included 2,000 bags of NPK fertilizer and 1,000 tractors.
