Nnamdi Kanu: There’s Still Hope, Says Deputy Speaker Kalu

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has voiced his belief that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People’s of Biafra (IPOB), can be released through political means.

He emphasized that hope for Kanu's freedom is not extinguished. Kalu made these remarks following a federal high court in Abuja's decision to sentence Kanu to life imprisonment on Thursday. He stated that efforts are underway to find a political solution that would lead to Kanu's release.

Kalu also expressed his confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, believing that the President will heed the appeals of concerned Igbo leaders regarding the situation, asserting that the President is open to this possibility.

He urged the people of the South East and all Nigerians to remain composed, assuring them that hope is still alive.
