Just In: Nigerian Army Seized Stolen Crude Oil which Value Above 150 Million.


The Nigerian Army's 6 Division, based in Port Harcourt, has seized stolen crude oil worth over N150 million in the Niger Delta. 


In a statement released on Monday, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the division, reported that troops dismantled multiple illegal refining operations and apprehended four suspected oil thieves, recovering more than 109,000 liters of stolen petroleum products in the region.


These operations, conducted in partnership with other security agencies, took place between November 10 and November 23, 2025. The recovered items included over 88,000 liters of stolen crude oil and 21,355 liters of illegally refined Automotive Gasoline Oil (AGO).


The operations spanned Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Bayelsa States. In the Ahoada local government area of Rivers State, three illegal refining sites were shut down, leading to the recovery of 40,000 liters of stolen crude and 20,000 liters of illegally refined AGO.


The statement also mentioned that near the Imo River, troops found three illegal refining sites, along with eight drum pots, seven drum receivers, one fiber boat, and over 14,700 liters of stolen crude in areas such as Asa, Obeakpo, Lekuma, and Abiama in Oyigbo LGA.
