BREAKING: It Has Been Confirmed That Christopher Musa Is The Newly Minister Of Defence.

The Senate has confirmed Mr. Musa as Nigeria's new Minister of Defence following a screening session that lasted approximately three hours in the Committee of the Whole.

On Wednesday, the Senate officially appointed Christopher Musa, a former Chief of Defence Staff and general, to the position.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the confirmation after lawmakers approved the nominee through a voice vote during the committee session.

The confirmation came after a lengthy screening that involved a question-and-answer segment.

During this session, Mr. Musa expressed his disapproval of negotiations with bandits and assured lawmakers that, under his leadership, the Defence Ministry would work harder to eliminate criminal groups threatening the nation.

He also criticized the reintegration of repentant Boko Haram members into society, arguing that terrorists should face harsher penalties.

The minister-designate called for increased funding for military operations, highlighting that many critical fighting tools are still being imported.

Mr. Musa urged Nigerians to unite against insecurity and stressed the importance of securing the nation's borders from foreign threats.

In related news, the Senate experienced a chaotic moment during Mr. Musa's screening when some lawmakers argued that he should not be questioned about insecurity and should simply "take a bow and go."

He also expressed concern over the slow pace of prosecuting captured terrorists, advocating for expedited trial processes.
