A joint security team was ambushed by armed attackers on the Kuzuntu route in Anchau, Kubau Local Government Area, Kaduna State, leading to the death of one police officer and injuries to multiple soldiers.


According to the post, the security team, which included members from the Nigerian Army, police, Kaduna State Veterinary and Development Service (KADVS), and local vigilantes, was on a mission at the government grazing reserve in Kuzuntu. 


They were escorting staff from an agro-industry company and local officials to evaluate the grazing area at the request of the Kubau Local Government Council Chairman.


“While they successfully completed their task, the security personnel were ambushed on their return,” Makama stated. Police Constable Sunday Ishaya was killed in the attack, and several soldiers sustained injuries.


“The victims were taken to a hospital, where PC Ishaya was declared dead, and the injured are currently receiving treatment. “The deceased has been transported to the General Hospital in Ikara, and investigations into the incident are ongoing,” Makama added.
