Nnamdi Kanu: There’s Still Hope, Says Deputy Speaker Kalu The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has voiced his belief that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People’s of Biafra (IPOB), can be released through political means. He emphasized that hope for Kanu's freedom is not extinguished. Kalu made these remarks following a federal high court in Abuja's decision to sentence Kanu to life imprisonment on Thursday. He stated that efforts are underway to find a political solution that would lead to Kanu's release. Kalu also expressed his confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, believing that the President will heed the appeals of concerned Igbo leaders regarding the situation, asserting that the President is open to this possibility.  He urged the people of the South East and all Nigerians to remain composed, assuring them that hope is still alive.

Breaking: Bandits Have Kidnapped 25 Female Students In the School

Armed assailants in Nigeria have taken 25 female students from a boarding institution in Kebbi State and resulted in the death of at least one staff member, officials reported on Monday. The girls were seized around 4 a.m., and no group has immediately taken responsibility for the act.  According to police spokesperson Nafi'u Abubakar Kotarkoshi, the attackers were equipped with "advanced weaponry" and exchanged gunfire with security personnel before making the abductions.  "A coordinated operation involving multiple teams is actively searching the suspected escape paths and nearby woodland areas to rescue the kidnapped girls and apprehend the offenders," he stated, noting that one individual was killed and another sustained injuries.
